Have you made any New Year Resolutions yet?
Personally, I don't believe in New Years Resolutions. I used to when I was much younger, and back then, I can safely say that none were successfully achieved in the year I wished them to. Why you might ask?
I believe it is down to the mindset we have as we set these Resolutions.
Some are unrealistic from the start, therefore unachievable.
Some are made with the thunder of the New Year and soon forgotten after the hype has passed.
Some of us have the best intentions at the start of the year, but after a few months of not reaching the goal, we give up.
Lastly, others give up on the idea at some point in the year and push it to the following year.
Which category do you fall into?
I believe that the best way to deal with resolutions is to completely change how we think about them.
How about we call them goals?
Now that the resolution is termed a ‘goal’, we can apply four simple rules.
1. The goal must be realistic.
2. The goal must be specific.
3. You must have an action plan on how to achieve it.
4. Lastly, positivity is key. Do you have a positive outlook on achieving your goal? Surround yourself with people who believe in you and will support you when the going gets tuff.
Remember, change can only come when you want it to come, when you start to work towards it. When you make these changes for yourself and you start to see results, nothing is better than that feeling of accomplishment. Don't lose hope!
So my star, tell me what your goal(s) are and what you are doing to work towards it.
Wishing you and yours a goal achieving New Year!
